Countryside
- The woodland in this area is extensive and worth a visit at any time of the year.
- Blean Woods occupies a large area but can be accessed between Whitstable and Canterbury. There are various signposted walks that you can go on between 1 and 8 miles long. In Whitstable its self there is the characteristic beach from which the beautiful sunsets can be viewed. The sea is suitable for swimming in the summer. There is the new Horsebridge centre with exhibitions, a café and a variety of activities. There are quality places to eat and a very good delicatessen.
Whitstable has a thriving community of contemporary artists. Exhibitions can be seen at the Fish slab gallery and at the New Horsebridge centre among other places.
There are also a variety of interesting shops along the High street.
For families there is always the swimming pool, ten pin bowling, farming world near Faversham, historic sites and places of interest in Canterbury such as the Cathedral.
Whitstable is also a suitable stop off point on route to the continent.
